Custom Work

So you’d like to commission some art? Hooray! I’ll need about 4 of the best, sharpest photos of an animal or landscape. (More is even better if you have them.)

Things to keep in mind when photographing your pet:

I recommend taking your shots outside on an overcast day or beside a window.
Animal eye contact is a big plus. It really helps me to see that individual’s unique personality.
Sometimes it helps to get hunkered down to the pet's height instead of aiming down at them.
Make sure your pet or subject isn’t lit from behind- that takes away a lot of the important details.
iPhone photos are just fine. You don’t need to use a fancy camera.

I accept custom work January through October. If you intend to give the painting as a holiday gift, please consider reaching me in the summer while I'm not teaching full time.
